Colin Rankin specializes in public consultation and workshop facilitation; evaluation and performance review; strategic planning and organizational development; and programme and public policy development both domestically and internationally. His education includes a Masters degree in public policy and conservation biology, Bachelor of Science with Majors in Biology and Geography and adult education certification.
Colin has been associated with SALASAN for more than a decade and has consulted professionally for over fifteen years - working with all levels of government, private sector and non-government organizations. Colin combines an inter-disciplinary perspective, analytical and strategic thinking and a grasp of group dynamics in his work. This work has included: workshop design and facilitation for NGOs, government agencies and the private sector addressing contentious management and planning issues in Canada and internationally; writing of public discussion documents and facilitation of stakeholder consultations to develop new legislation and government policies; projects involving BC First Nations and Treaty Groups; institutional reviews of multi-sector organizations; mid-term project reviews and end of project assessments; and development and delivery of a wide range of training and education materials and concepts.
