Keith Ogilvie's career has taken him on assignments throughout Canada and in more than 25 countries internationally, with responsibility for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating a range of programs and projects. As a consultant, he has provided advice to public sector managers at national and provincial levels in Canada on domestic and international programs and projects. He has worked on long term overseas postings where he was responsible for directing projects in governance related capacity building in civil society, public servants and in government institutions. Keith also served as a senior public servant in the government of British Columbia for several years, and is an accredited supplier of evaluation related services to the province.
Examples of recent assignments for which Keith has been responsible include: senior evaluator responsible for governance and private sectors for regional and country program evaluations in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe; team leader for evaluation of governance and private sector support projects in Africa and Southeast Asia; provision of support to design of a regional trade support program in the Caribbean; provision of strategic advice on establishment of a new indigenous Foundation aimed at building governance capacity in South Africa; and, provision of mentoring support to a new locally engaged project field director.
Keith has strong skills in bringing together and distilling different ideas and perspectives gathered at all levels, articulating a clear synthesis, and providing practical recommendations to support learning, improvements in delivery and achievement of results.
